Change is a good thing...

Wow so much has changed over the last year, and particularly since I released I Am Anomaly. I'm still very proud of that work because it showcased where I was at the time. I produced it myself and had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented musicians, but I am very happy to say that a lot has changed since then.

When I wrote the songs for that album I was in a place that felt very much like a desert. I could see hope but it was a long way off. I would often pray for things to change in my personal life and I think some of those songs really reflect the desperation and often anger I was feeling at the time. Particularly in songs like Status Quo and Tidal Waves. I Am Anomaly was an important stage of my life and I wouldn't change a thing but I am so excited to announce the name of my next album, Out of the Desert.

Out of the Desert is about just that, the journey I have taken over the last few years to bring me out of that desert place and into a place where I feel peace and so much joy. I had a picture a few years back of myself sat on the ground in a vast open desert land, a figure approached me and reached out his hand. He said it was time to come out of the desert and little did I know that that was the start of a long but rewarding journey for me.

So apart from all the change that has happened in myself what has changed in my life?...

I got married!!! In September I had the absolute joy and privilege to marry my soul mate and best friend. Dave is a rock and one of the kindest most genuine people I have ever met. He is who he says he is and he knows how to love so beautifully. I am so lucky to be his wife and we are loving life in our cosy little cottage in the somerset countryside.

I went travelling for the first time!!! Our honeymoon was a 5 week trip around the world. We went to Sri Lanka, New Zealand and the west coast of The States. We saw the craziest most beautiful animals including a black bear, komodo dragon, giant fruit bats, deathly spiders and a butterfly the size of a bird. Not to mention the scorpion that so kindly decided to make itself at home in our motel room in the middle of the desert! During the trip we jumped out of a plane, took a helicopter tour and landed in the grand canyon where we drank champagne, camped out in a little camper van in the snowy mountains in New Zealand and drove across America in a bright yellow convertible (think Bumble Bee from transformers)! It was an absolute dream and I definitely caught the travel bug!

We have a cat!! I've wanted to get a cat for so long. I had a cat called Lucy growing up who I absolutely adored, when she passed away a few years ago I was heart broken so it's so special to be able to love a new little fuzz ball! We've named her Darcey after Darcey Bussell (I may have had something to do with that) and she certainly lives up to her name. She's so adventurous and does these crazy flying leaps across the floor. I never knew a kitten could leap off the ground with all fours in the air and jump quite so high! She's so much fun and we loved her almost instantly, she's definitely part of the family now!

We've moved house!! We live in a beautiful little cottage in a small village near Bath. The cottage is small but it's so perfect for us. It has a big log fire and not one wall or floor is straight or flat. It's so quirky and everything we need for our first home. Our neighbours are wonderful and so welcoming. We've never lived in a place where we feel so welcome. We've also really enjoyed hosting people and cooking for them!

That's about it in terms of change, its been an exciting time for us and we're really looking forward to the future. So keep an eye out, new music will be coming your way soon. I don't think I've ever been so excited about a project as I am about this.

All the love,

Anna x
